I saw these playful Nymphenburg bowls at Bergdorf the other weekend - I'm not sure how practical they are (maybe they would work with a bed of leaves and cubes of cheese or bunches of grapes), but I'm enamored nonetheless. It's an odd idea, but the incredible detail and impeccable quality makes these read as fine art rather than kitsch.
